Monitoring can be done over dialup phone lines, cellular (hard to interrupt), the Internet and long range radio.  Upon activation, your system communicates quickly with the central station computers that analyze the alarm signal and assign action to the next available operator, who is on the phone with you almost instantly to verify the alarm.

When you are not there, a call list is available to notify you remotely via cell phone or call others you designate as backup contacts.

With todays technology, a Central Station Monitoring facility can be hundreds, if not thousands of miles away and still provide instant, uniterrupted communication.

For the small price you pay, (maybe a dollar or two a day) you have someone watching over your assets 24/7.
